Make no mistake:
Robert Hedlund, the GOP state senator from Weymouth, will be a different kind of leader. A favorite among the Republican Liberty caucus, Hedlund will mostly likely benefit from support outside the State House for his bid to head the paltry cadre of GOP state senators. A follower of Ron Paul, Hedlund opposed the Bush administration's decision to launch wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And like like his predecessor Richard Tisei, Hedlund has the uncanny ability to win elections in districts dominated by Democratic voters.
